At the end of March, with COVID case counts climbing, and sensing our season would be ending soon, we organized a recording session with about half the choir in person. We pulled together some tantalizing excerpts from new music to be premiered next season, which we’ll be sharing over the next weeks and months. We also recorded a complete performance of one more Esenvalds piece, Stars.
This piece of brand-new video was created in a unique way: We include the 16 singers recorded live at St. Timothy’s in March, PLUS 13 more singers recorded remotely, intermixed and blended into a cohesive whole. Night sky and drone footage completes the visual experience.
This is our season-capping performance, and it reflects the unique combination of togetherness-and-apart-ness that characterized our year together. Enjoy!
