Dear friends,
It’s an exciting week! I’ve just returned from the national Podium Conference and Festival, hosted biannually by Choral Canada, this year in Montreal. Connecting with fellow choral conductors, with many composers with whom Chronos has collaborated, and with Canadian and international publishers of choral music is always inspiring and invigorating.
Chronos has nearly finished its rehearsals for performances in Edmonton and Calgary this weekend with Spiritus Chamber Choir, and on Friday night we will board a tour bus for the first time since 2020! I think we’re all pretty excited about that.
Finally, just last night we spent time in the first of two recording sessions on Stuart Beatch’s Chosen Family. By next month, this new work will have had at least five performance since our January premiere, including a BC premiere in Victoria in June! We are so pleased to see the piece attracting so much interest and attention, and our congratulations go to Stuart.
